SCRUM Master

Scrum Master
LDMS is a fintech software start-up, spinning out of a large multinational group focused on delivering credit and lending software to a global market that is set to grow  to $12 billion in the next 5 years.

We have a unique position; as a spin off from an existing multinational group we have the history, existing customers, large financial backing, a proven model and a solid revenue base. As a start up we have the ability, skills and autonomy to move fast, invest in new technologies and work with the best people.

However, this is just the start of our journey. To reach our ambitions we need builders, makers, and doers, helping us keep delivery high and bureaucracy low. We’re looking for people who want to have global impact, delivered from the heart of Cardiff.

The Role

As a scrum master you will be responsible for facilitating practices for a number of agile squads focused on the development of new and existing product lines. You will work with the teams to ensure they are constantly improving their practices, challenging each other to lower mistakes, removing blockers to help velocity and working closely with the development manager to make improvements to our processes and culture to ultimately deliver a better product, faster.

This role is pivotal in improving the way we work. We’re already investing heavily in our Agile transformation and need someone who has “been there and done it” to keep helping the teams mature how they work. This role is perfect for someone who has the drive and passion to really make a difference in the way our teams work, be it scrum, kanban or whatever is best, you will work with the development manager and the teams to make decisions and drive results.

We are already progressing well on moving from a traditional way of working to a modern Agile setup, we are also investing in devops tooling and processes to help the teams progress. However we need to keep learning and evolving if we are to get where we want to be.

What can you expect from us?

  • You will be trusted and involved in shaping how the teams work in an open and collaborative way.
  • You will be exposed to opportunities to learn and develop yourself, part of growing fast is giving our people the remit to step into places they haven’t been before and giving them the backing to make it a success.
  • A company that is authentic, not trying to pretend to be perfect, but honest and open about continually learning and evolving with our people.
  • A genuine and supportive team who all want to be a part of making something a true success
  • A brand new city centre location with a modern relaxed feel just 1 minute from central station!

Our team

We’re a diverse collection of people from a variety of backgrounds, but all very much focused on the opportunity in front of us. You can expect a positive, social and open company.

We hold regular company wide meetings and really encourage an open dialogue so we can deal with any issues and keep things moving forward.

Your skills & experience

Whilst we see great value in bringing people in with specific skills, we also realise in the modern world sometimes your background may not perfectly overlap with the skills listed here, but you may think you’re a perfect fit for us anyway. If you think that’s you, please get in touch..

Key skills we would see being useful for this role are:
  • Experience as a scrum master working with multiple agile teams
  • Experience in agile development with scrum, kanban, etc
  • A focus on results and delivery, understanding how changes in the teams can help increase velocity, reduce errors, lower cycle times, etc
  • A solid understanding of devops and the culture that drives in exposing developers to production and customers
  • A real passion for people, driving enthusiasm and positivity into the teams
  • A passion for solving problems
  • Excellent communication, people management and planning skills

The package

We have a great working environment, on top of which we offer:
  • Competitive salary
  • Discretionary annual bonus of up to 20% of salary
  • Pension scheme to which the company contributes
  • A fresh new office within a 2 minute walk of Cardiff train station
