Backend Engineer
LDMS is a fintech software start-up, spinning out of a large multinational group focused on delivering credit and lending software to a global market that is growing to $12 billion in the next 5 years.

The Role
As a Backend Engineer, you will work as part and across multi-disciplined Agile teams, bringing product-focussed quality assurance expertise to the delivery process.
You will lead and consult on estimating, prioritising, planning and coordination of development activities including design and maintenance of multiple micro-services developed with Java and Go. This work will involve a combination of additional features to extend existing products, plus pure greenfield development of new initiatives and product lines.
You’ll be working with modern technology including; devops and gitops, docker, kubernetes, istio and cloud deployments to deliver real technology powered transformation in an environment driven by great ideas - politics and hierarchy are not included.
You will be up to speed on modern technology, cloud deployment, devops and gitops, docker, kubernetes and istio is a big benefit. You will be a real self-learner, able to pick up new ideas and run with them to deliver something great into production quickly.
We are looking for someone with real world software experience, familiar with design patterns, managing code through pull requests and working in modern agile teams. You will have a real focus on automation and quality, helping us release software faster and easier.

Key skills we would see being useful for this role are:
- Experience developing java using spring boot and modern java features
- Experience in development with golang
- Experience with cloud development
- Experience working with modern tooling such as jenkins, git, etc.
