Executive Assistant & Program Coordinator

ABOUT US

Lawyers for Good Government Foundation (“L4GG”) is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to strengthen democratic institutions, resist abuse of power, and defend individual rights. We’re currently mobilizing volunteer lawyers across the country in support of immigrants’ rights, sending attorneys to detention centers and refugee camps to provide free legal services to asylum-seekers, and running remote legal representation programs. Other areas of emphasis include climate change, voting rights, and upholding the rule of law.

ABOUT THE POSITION

STATUS: 
Full-time

LOCATION: 
Remote; location flexible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We’re seeking a talented, highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized individual to provide high-level support to our Executive Director (ED) and to help coordinate volunteers for our key programs. This role requires an exceptional candidate with strong communication skills, the ability to quickly learn and manage digital tools, and an aptitude for working well in start-up environments. 

Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Review, prioritize, and respond effectively to incoming communications;
  • Manage the ED’s calendar, schedule meetings, and proactively prepare the ED for scheduled meetings;
  • Draft and send communications to key stakeholders as directed by the ED;
  • Identify and arrange necessary travel and transportation;
  • Manage and maintain online databases (donors, volunteers, etc.);
  • Draft emails, blog posts, and social media posts;
  • Coordinate volunteers, track volunteer activities and respond to questions;
  • Learn new skills and handle additional projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will have top-notch interpersonal skills, judgment, and the ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Must have access to a quiet workspace (home office, other space) with high-speed internet and the ability to take calls and/or video conferences  during working hours. Minimum five years experience preferred.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Commitment to our organization’s mission;
  • Ability to think proactively and take initiative to assist in achieving a set of stated objectives;
  • Proven organizational skills;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills;
  • Administrative and scheduling experience;
  • Experience using Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Drive;
  • Experience coordinating volunteers is highly desirable;
  • Experience with any or all of the following digital tools is a plus: EveryAction, Airtable, Action Network, Dropbox, Zapier, GoToWebinar, Hootsuite, Basecamp, GrooveHQ.
