Production Planner
Job Overview:
The production planner is responsible for creating and managing the finished goods production schedule as well as working closely with our co-packers to ensure on-time production. In addition, the production planner works alongside the Purchasing, Forecasting, and Sales teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of Finished Goods.
Job Description:
- Develop and publish valid, feasible production schedules for finished goods based on forecast and raw material availability
- Facilitate and coordinate logistics of delivering ingredients from warehouse to co-packer
- Oversee production and ensure co-packers stick to production schedule
- Create and submit production POs to co-packers
- Work closely with co-packers and maintain a working relationship
- Input work orders and stock transfers into our ERP system in a timely manner to maintain the schedule
- Track co-packer waste, and create co-packer scorecards on a monthly basis
- Review new product introductions, and promotion calendar to ensure that the supply chain can support all production requirements
Requirements:
- Experience in supply chain
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (i.e. Business, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management) or related area is highly desirable or 5 years of on the job experience.
- Possess advanced computer literacy skills with an emphasis on Excel
- Ability to work with all levels of employees and build effective working relationships
- Ability to own your job and eagerness to create new processes to scale the operations department - Are you comfortable with autonomy and able to build something?
- Comfortable in a start-up work environment - longer hours might be required.
- A finisher - many people can set goals but if you want to be successful we want to hire someone that has a history of starting and finishing their goals or projects.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in Manufacturing Materials Management
- Experience in the use of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems for the production planning process
- Processed and packaged food industry experience
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central a plus
