Pre-Sales Specialist (Inside Sales-Higher Ed)

The Role

We are looking for a driven inside sales, marketing, or business development professional with a passion for science and education to join our pre-sales team, specializing in two of our newest products. The ideal candidate will be on the frontlines of the outbound sales and marketing efforts, filling the funnel with interested prospects, building demand, conducting product demos, and setting up as many trial accounts as possible.

The pre-sales product champions will own all aspects of the outbound lead-gen efforts by making phone calls, booking and conducting demos, setting up free trials, responding to inbound requests, and maintaining excellent relationships with prospects.  You will collaborate with the territory manager for a smooth handoff and to help close the sale. Some travel will be expected.

The role reports to the Director of Sales for JoVE Core and JoVE Lab Manual and is supported by the in-house marketing department and data collection team.

This role will be based in-house out of our office in Cambridge, MA. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Provide a steady stream of leads for territory manager by setting up 22 trials per month
  • To achieve this, an average of 60 outbound calls is expected
  • Manage daily incoming trial requests from marketing
  • Collaborate with Sales Account Managers to advance the sales process 
  • Log relationships, touches, and trials in SalesForce.com

Qualifications
  • A Bachelors or Masters Degree (Science background strongly preferred).
  • A demonstrated passion for science, education, lowering costs for students, and the belief that video/technology can truly make a difference throughout the educational process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for phone conversations and remote relationship building.
  • Ability to tell a compelling story in a short period of time
  • Located in our Cambridge office with work requiring North American travel between 20% and 30% of the time.
