Curriculum Specialist

JoVE is currently accepting resumes for the new position of Curriculum Specialist for Korea, based in Seoul. 
 
Overview
 
The Curriculum Specialist will be responsible for visiting Colleges and Universities in South Korea to help faculty integrate JoVE’s content in their courses. This position will report to the South Korea Sales Manager in our APAC Office and will work close with Account Managers supporting the sales process and ensuring customer uptake and satisfaction. 
 
Requirements and responsibilities: 
 
  • Customer-facing role with a focus on outreach to, Teachers, Educators, and Researchers to make sure JoVE resources are being used in the Classroom and Lab 
  • Delivering presentations at: (1) exhibits and conferences (2) University seminars and workshops (3) meetings and webinars (4) Trials (5) sales pitches (6) product awareness post-sale
  • Developing relationships with key decision makers and teaching/research staff at Universities and Research Institutes
  • Providing customer feedback to sales, product and marketing teams
  • Delivering Product Awareness within new and ongoing customer Universities and Research Institutes
  • Providing professional development or content-based workshops at conferences
  • Having a deep understanding and knowledge of JoVE’s products and content
  • Collaborating with internal JoVE teams including sales and marketing
  • Maintaining positive ongoing relationships with customer institutes during the sales cycle, and after a sale to provide support and ensure client satisfaction
  • Providing excellent customer service at all times 
 
Required Knowledge and Experience:
 
 
  • BSc or BA, Masters or PhD Degree (preferred) in STEM 
  • Teaching & research experience, particularly in a laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of education and market trends and challenges in assigned content areas i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, Physics, Engineering or Psychology
  • Knowledge of STEM publishing
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent presentations for large and small groups
  • Experience in networking with scientists and decision makers
  • Previous experience in selling and servicing in the education/publishing market is desirable
  • Experience in public speaking and creating engaging presentations for teachers, researchers, libraries and decision makers
  • Language requirements: Korean (native or full working proficiency), English (native or full working proficiency)
 
Other
  • Frequent travel both within Korea and Internationally.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 kg.
  • Self-starter. Can at times be responsible for self-directed training and preparedness
