Assistant Project Manager

Job Purpose:
The Assistant Project Manager will prepare, organize, and supervise Joule employees at assigned utility and commercial solar project sites nationwide. They will contribute to a team that manages utility PV projects that produce better-than-budget performance each year. 

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Complete all assigned tasks ahead of time and ensure completion of tasks by outside groups
  • Report any potential project issues to Senior Project Manager immediately along with at least two suggested options for next steps
  • Provide written weekly feedback/scores to senior project managers
  • Create organizational structures in project management software and spreadsheets
  • Maintain up to date project information in relevant software and spreadsheets
  • Travel to project sites, supervise subcontractors and Joule staff on site as requested
  • Communicate with subcontractors and staff to maintain project schedule
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to the installation
  • Clearly communicate necessary information about project to all related project personnel and ensure their full understanding
  • Understand and communicate full scope of project at a technical level
  • Adhere to OSHA requirements for job sites and communicate those requirements to others

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, master’s preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience with energy project development in a professional capacity
  • 1-5 years of construction project management experience 
  • Preference for a NABCEP certification 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Experience with maintaining multiple project schedules with many complex parts
  • Very high level of written and oral communication
  • Technical Proficiencies
    • Advanced understanding of Google Docs, Google Sheets and Excel
    • Advanced understanding of project management and scheduling system
    • Experience with Salesforce
    • Experience with Gmail
