We are seeking a Title Insurance Professional to fill an Underwriting Counsel role for a Title Insurance Company.

You will be involved in a wide range of critical underwriting functions and decisions.
You would provide underwriting support and expertise to company personnel and customer(s), related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies. Utilizes underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits, to underwrite the issuance of title insurance. Acts in the most senior capacity for the Division providing leadership and guidance for the Division. Primary liaison to Home Office Underwriting. Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and other external clients in order to attract, develop and retain profitable business for the Division Participates with Home Office Senior Management in underwriter initiatives around product development, processes, underwriting policy and strategy. Responsible for communicating information related to underwriting from home office underwriting to subordinates. Plans and hosts divisional underwriting meetings to communicate information related to underwriting. Utilizes underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits, to underwrite the issuance of title insurance.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Law Degree required. Admitted to practice in state within division. 8+ years title underwriting experience. Licensed to practice law, in good standing. Demonstrated advanced practical experience with concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title. Excellent leadership skills, leading by example, driving employee commitment through actions. High level of business acumen, strategic ability, ability to develop others and influence change. Exercises high degree of confidence, sound judgment and decision making. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure. Ability to build relationships and create rapport. Requires abstract thinking and creative solutions. Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and make unique yet sound decisions to resolve complex issues.
