HR Assistant

We are looking to hire an HR Assistant and are hoping to have the right candidate start next week if possible. (week of June 4th)

Some of the basics:
500+ employees
Daily recruitment functions and administrative duties
Performs data entry of 500+ employee records/report generation
Basic knowledge & practical application of all employment law
  • Performs various administrative tasks for the recruitment function: processes requisitions, reviews external and internal applications/resumes for position qualifications; processes background checks and adverse action notices. Coordinates job postings and resume routing activities. 
  • Processes all internal transfers and prepares compensation analysis for those transfers if applicable. Completes the new employee file and closes requisition files to include rejection letters/emails to candidates.
  • Processes all off cycle promotions, and prepares all compensation analysis for those promotions if applicable.
  • Assists with various administrative onboarding duties including first day orientation for new hires.
  • Serves as back-up in handling requisitions for temporary personnel and onboarding of personnel.
  • Provides data entry and documentation of any compensation, status or eligibility changes into HRIS system. 
  • Processes changes, updates and additions to organization structure. 
  • Maintains all current job descriptions and updates myCU with revisions. Creates new job codes in ADP for new positions when necessary. Also updates Job Code & Pay Grade report as changes occur.
  • Performs all terminated personnel file maintenance ensuring the security and confidentiality of all records. Processes paperwork to terminate access of separated employees from the credit union computer system, telephone system and employee discounts. Routes Exit Interview Reports for management's review. 
  • Administers the termination process providing documentation for exiting employees, support for department managers and paperwork for the payroll department to process the final pay. 
  • Logs and tracks Ergo assessments for new hires and annual assessments.
  • Manages Employee Referral program and ensure timely payment of referral awards.
  • Prepares misc. reports as requested.
  • Organizes and inventories HR Library.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Exercises discretion in administering their responsibilities to minimize liability to the credit union based on human resources practices. Supports the growth of the credit union in a manner that is aligned with the credit union's mission, vision and values. 
Requirements:
  • A degree in Human Resources or a related field is desired.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on HR experience is required, preferably in Recruitment and/or in the Financial/Banking industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Knowledgeable in integrated systems, i.e. Recruitment, On-Boarding, and HRIS.
  • Knowledge of ADP WorkForce Nowhighly desirable.
  • Possess working knowledge of Windows 7 and 2013 Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of State & Federal employment laws and practices.
  • Ability to exercise discretion within the scope of Human Resources and HRIS practices and operations.
