Injury Management Coordinator – $40k/yr - Grand Rapids, MI

Our client is a fast-growing staffing agency that needs an individual to work as their Injury Management Coordinator. This is a newly created position that will flex in scope and responsibility as it develops.
The IMC is responsible for helping injured employees return to work as soon as possible. The ICM will act as a liaison between the injured employee, their supervisor, medical personnel, and the insurance company.
The IMC will:
- Develop Return to Work program policies and procedures.
- Develop relationships with doctors and clinics to inform them of the Return To Work program.
- Promptly report claims, including the first report of injury.
- Work with the claims adjuster and the medical providers to develop an injury management plan for the injured employee.
- Coordinate with clients to identify suitable duties and work modifications to bring injured employee back to work as soon as possible.
- Coordinate and monitor the progress of injured employee’s treatment, rehabilitation services, benefits, and return to work.
- Maintain confidential case records.
- Screen claims for evidence of fraud, exaggeration, and questionable compensability.
- Coordinate and review accident investigations,
- Follow up on corrective measures in the workplace to ensure they have been implemented to decrease the possibility of a repeat accident.
- Collect and distribute information or local resources, including substance abuse rehabilitations, bilingual services, and mental health programs.
Background Profile:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Experience with Worker’s Compensation claims.
- Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional Administrative/Organization skills.
- Human Resource experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- CWCP or CAWC certification a plus but not required.
- Bilingual a plus but not required.
