Production Planner, $45-75k/yr DOE, Savannah GA - Direct Hire
A leading global company in the energy field is actively seeking a Production Planner to join their team in Savannah, GA. This individual will coordinate the production process to achieve an on-time project completion based on contractual requirements and operational lead-times.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Create work orders and schedule the releases of work orders to designated work centers.
- Perform scheduling of released orders in the shop floor control system, manage work-in-process (WIP) and assist with physical movement of product throughout the entire manufacturing process.
- Sort and control materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined shop floor priorities.
- Coordinate with purchasing and inventory control the expediting of late-arriving purchased material that can affect scheduled product completion and subsequent deliveries.
- Confer with production management to resolve problems affecting production schedules.
- Communicate program priorities for out-sourced production work.
- Coordinate the final shipment of the product with supervisors, project managers, and shipping/receiving personnel.
- Advises the Production Control Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager of anticipated problems, material shortages, engineering changes and/or equipment failures or major non-conformance of in-process product.
- Check for planning errors during production and recommend corrective action.
- Prepare purchase orders to maintain inventories of raw materials and finished products.
- Evaluates written data, such as job orders, product specifications, and operations sheets, parts, and materials inventory lists, and machine and worker production rates, to establish efficient allocation and scheduling of parts, materials, machines, and sequences of operation and workflow
- Maintain inventory records.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources;
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals;

- Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties;
- Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
Your Qualities:
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Forklift operation and overhead crane operation certificates.
- Language Skills, Mathematical Skills, Reasoning Ability
- Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and advanced database knowledge of MPR, ERP and BOM processes.
