Who we are.
intermix.io is an analytics platform that helps our customers spot bottlenecks in their data pipelines, detect troublesome queries, and fix slow analytics. So we process huge amounts of data. Our system extracts raw events from customer environments, performs complex data transformations, annotates those transforms to enable traceablility, and serves that up to our customers via RESTful APIs and our web client.
What you'll be doing.
We're really proud of what we've done to build our analytics platform! You will be too. We're able to rapidly serve insightful information out of our internal data pipeline (consiting of Amazon Redshift, EMR, Elasticsearch, and Postgres). Our system currently processes millions of customer events per day with very low latency.
On the data transformation team, you'll get to:
- Improve our ETL pipeline
- Implement algorithms to derive insights from base metrics.
- Play with massive data-lake environments and technologies like EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, Redshift and ElasticSearch.
- Design new services to ingest, store, and query massive amounts of data from complex environments.
- Write complex data transformations to convert raw metrics into meaningful information.
- Write internal documentation.
- Collaborate with the product and front-end teams to build new systems and features to surface new insights to our customers.
- Develop and extend our core data validation frameworks.
Your success will enable our customers' data teams to understand complex interactions across massive and distributed data-lake environments.
Where we are (and where you'll be).
intermix.io's headquarters is located in San Francisco, California, but we're hiring world-wide. While we have colleagues in New Jersey, Romania, and North Macedonia, we'll be better able to support you and work together if your working hours overlap US time zones. We also like to make sure everyone can get together in-person, so travel will occasionally be required.
Why you want to work here.
Our team values analysis, communication, empathy, persistence, and self-learning. We write extensively about our work and things we've discovered in doing it, and we focus on tools and processes to support each other.
You'll be joining a small, dedicated team of supportive, collaborative colleagues and your impact will be apparent quickly. Data services make up some of the fastest growing technologies in the technology sector, so you'll be developing expertise that will be in demand for a long time to come.
We work really hard to cultivate a work environment that doesn't demand late nights, overtime, or heroics. We offer flexible schedules and are flexible with the demands life places on people. We offer unlimited vacation and sick time. And taking both is enthusiastically encouraged.
We're actively seeking a diverse set of candidates, especially those from under-served or historically marginalize groups, because we acknowledge that high-performing teams include people with different backgrounds and experiences.
