High-end, award-winning residential design firm seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team as a designer and project manager.
Position Preview
- Effectively perform all phases of the design process
- Responsible for all working drawings, including hand and computer generated plans, cabinetry and millwork details, lighting and electrical plans.
- Generate finish, appliance, plumbing, bath accessory schedules, etc.
- Responsible for custom furniture drawings and custom soft goods (window treatments, accent pillows, bedding, etc.)
- Experience with high-end residential construction and ability to communicate with architects, builders and sub-contractors.
- Conduct product research and determine project design options, including collecting furniture literature, finishes and materials samples
- Hold professional relationships with sales representatives and industry partners
- Responsible for processing and executing purchase orders
- Project Management Manage, from inception to completion, interior design projects
- Direct outside consultants and/or vendors as required to develop and implement design projects
- Manage furniture installations and small interior refurbishment projects
- Prepare and track budgets and review change order.
- Write specifications for product purchasing (includes furniture, fixtures, and equipment)
- Oversee scheduling and ordering, installation and maintenance of projects
- Maintain detailed project files and client project databases
Position Requirements
- Strong knowledge of color, styles, fabric, furniture, and materials
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Integrity and strong work ethic
- Commitment to high quality of customer service
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather, and analyze information skillfully
- Ability to manage time in an effective manner
- Positive, team player attitude 5 years minimum design experience
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Studio IT and Microsoft Office Suite
Compensation
- $55,000 - $90,000 depending on experience, portfolio and certifications
