Data is at the heart of how Aura makes business decisions. We work collaboratively with partners across product, engineering, operations and channels to develop business insights and make actionable recommendations. We also expect you to work cross-functionally to support critical processes as the team continues to innovate in this space. The ideal candidate is technically minded, business savvy, and exceptionally driven. We're looking for passionate data analysts/ data scientists with the ability and experience to help us scale to come work alongside us to take on some of the most interesting and toughest problems in lending:

  • How do you responsibly lend to someone who doesn’t have a credit history while making a profit at the same time?
  • How do you drive sales productivity across a 1,000+ sales force employed by 10 different partners in different industries using a consistent set of tools?
  • How do you leverage unstructured partner data to identity relevant products to market?
  • How do you drive sustainable long-term changes in financial behavior by using behavioral economics techniques? 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Partner Management, Business Development, Operations, Finance, and Product teams to translate business insights into decisions and action.      
  • Building and maintaining statistical models for response modeling, attribution, loan/ revenue forecasting.
  • Set business metrics and develop analytical frameworks that measure the health of our products and business.
  • Develop and deliver frameworks to provide performance data and dashboards to various internal and external stakeholders. Structure insights for communication to executive and operational stakeholders.
  • Partner and develop strong relationships with cross ­functional teams.
  • Develop strong hypotheses, independently solve problems, and share business learnings to drive growth.
  • Design and analyze experiments; communicate results and launch decisions
  • Be data analytics thought leader – investigating, recommending and driving adoption of new tools

 Experience & Skills:

  • Degree in a quantitative field like statistics, economics, applied math, operations research or engineering. Advanced degree is a plus 
  • 2-3 years of industry experience in a data science or analytics role
  • Strong proficiency in SQL - able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets
  • Some experience in programming, especially with data science and visualization libraries in Python or R
  • Experience working with any BI tools like Tableau, Mode, Looker, Periscope etc.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners to build the business
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Comfortable producing executive level presentations of data insights
  • Experience building decision making models in any of Excel, Python, R, etc.
