What we are looking for at Aura
This Role
We’re looking for someone to support the Finance organization from a financial / data analyst perspective. This role will have constant interaction with our Engineering, Marketing Analytics, Capital Markets, and Regulatory Compliance teams on a variety of efforts that directly impact the Finance team. The ideal candidate will have solid business acumen, with a particular focus on accounting and finance operations being a big plus. You can expect the majority of your time to be focused on being the Finance team’s champion for both internal and external data related requests. A strong independent worker that can navigate working with multiple teams will surely succeed in this role.
The primary skills we are looking for in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Math
- 1-2 years of experience in advanced modeling or data analytics
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with particular focus on data modeling
- Must have a solid understanding of writing SQL queries and complex data tables
- Understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls (GAAP understanding a plus)
- Strong research and analysis skills
- Strong data management capabilities
- Ability to work effectively in a multi information system environment
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Customer service orientation
- Possess very good communication skills - written and verbal
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
What you’ll do on a day-to-day basis:
- Perform financial support activities and turn data into meaningful information
- Use and maintain SQL queries
- Assist with monthly financial closings from a data analysis perspective
- Perform routine communication relating to financial close, issues and deliverables
- Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing Analytics, Capital Markets, and Finance on a routine basis
- Prepare month-end custom ad-hoc reports
- Participate in business support processes
- Supports internal and external audit and regulatory requests.
- Supports Corporate Finance group with financial policies, internal controls, and business processes
