Our Matchmove Team is responsible for both matchmove and layout, then passed down to other departments via the VFX pipeline. The Matchmover is required to create, solve or extend camera motion, assist in pre- and post-visualization, and perform complex layout and matchmoving tasks in live action film and high concept television productions.

Responsibilities:
● Recreating (solving) or creating the movement of a mono or stereo live-action camera in 3D.
● Object tracking, rotomation, and layout.
● Using lidar or the measurements and pictures of the live-action set, camera information, distortion grids, and scaling reference of characters and objects to create a virtual set in 3D (Maya).
● Setup the technical and aesthetic approaches of the matchmove work for a shot, sequence, or even an entire aspect of a show.
● Understand Anamorphic Lenses for the creation of undistorting/re-distorting of plates.
● A thorough understanding of 3D camera principles such as lenses, distortion, parallax etc
● Help animation department with rotomation and previs if needed.
● Ability to do more detailed modeling than proxy geometry when requested.
Requirements:
● Working knowledge of Syntheyes.
● Thorough knowledge and experience with Maya.
● Working knowledge of Nuke.
● Capable of delivering high-quality camera tracking and layouts for both single shots and general environments (multiple camera setups).
● A good eye for detail and ability to work under pressure on potentially short turn around times.
● Capable of solving creative problems using simple, efficient techniques, share ideas with teammates, and iterate rapidly based on client notes.
● Able to take direction and feedback from a lead or supervisor.
● At least 1 years production experience working in a photo-real/live-action VFX pipeline; commercial, TV, or feature film experience, preferred.
● Junior artist encouraged to apply, training will be provided if needed.
● Artists with multiple vfx skills is a plus such as previs, rigging, modeling, animation and scripting will be ideal. Opportunity to perform these skills will be given when tracking department is not busy.
