NVH CAE Engineer
Roles and Responsibilities:
Vehicle NVH CAE Engineer responsible for NVH CAE analysis of the full vehicle, subsystems and components. Build trimmed body, suspension and exhaust FEA models for simulation purpose. Perform normal modes, frequency response and transient analyses to identify issues and resolutions. Develop design solutions to address NVH issues. Work closely with vehicle development, NVH lab, & design teams to identify and resolve issues and optimize the structure for weight/cost. Perform transfer path analysis to root cause dominant paths and contributions to NVH performance issues. The NVH CAE Engineer will generate up-front architecture concept. Will be responsible for but not limited to generating multiple CAE concepts using concept mock-up/morphing /parametrization process for NVH virtual analysis and analyzing them at BIW/TBIW and Full-vehicle level. The Engineer will conduct CAE analysis using NASTRAN/Optistruct and will work towards improving the concept for performance/feasibility working with sciences, architecture, design, and other extended teams. Contribute in process enhancement, tools and methods for up-front architecture development.
Requirements:
- Master of Science degree in Structural/Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3yrs of recent experience in NVH simulations using NASTRAN.
- Good experience in use of concept morphs/parameterization in CAE, targeted towards NVH performance.
- Good knowledge of Optistruct and/or Genesis.
- Good knowledge of vehicle structures and NVH sub-system analysis for Body/Chassis/Powertrain.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure of different manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CAD tools for basic data handling.
- Scripting skills for process automation.
- Good presentation skills.
- Good problem solving ability.
- Good knowledge of fundamental physics and structural engineering principles.
