Chassis Component Engineer
The Chassis Component Engineer manages the design, development and release of chassis structural components for production vehicles for all global markets.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of all aspects of design to ensure system and vehicle level functional objectives are met.
  • Complete project ownership of engineering deliverables per Project Management KPI (Key Process Indicators), step deliverables and program timing.
  • Component design/development/package, Management of DVPR. 
  • Component/system/vehicle level validation testing, engineering change management and bill of Material.
  • Support prototype builds and issues resolution management.
  • Management of CAD models in Team Center system. 
  • Support production at supplier and manufacturing facilities.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical/Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
  • This position will be responsible for the Value Optimization of Chassis Frames, Cradles and Shifters. 
  • These core responsibilities include supporting the development for a variety of optimization projects across numerous components, vehicle programs and engineering teams.
  • Focused efforts on ensuring systematic progress while regularly gathering and clearly communicating technical status updates to management.
  • Knowledge of Chassis Systems development background, Chassis Systems manufacturing background, Chassis Systems processing knowledge, product quality systems understanding and working knowledge of DVP&R’s and DFMEAs.
  • Chassis system/component engineering experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of system/component design/development.
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
  • General understanding of NX, TeamCenter and CoDeP.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work to management and cross-functional teams.
  • Quality / reliability engineering knowledge.
  • May be required to drive a company car.  Clean driving record and valid Drivers License require.
  • May be required to travel domestically up to 20%
