Job Summary:  
The Powertrain Synthesis Engineer will be responsible for fuel economy, performance, capability and drivability development, testing and validation. This includes benchmarking competitive vehicles and developing functional objectives for Company’s vehicles that achieve competitive targets. The Synthesis Engineer will plan and conduct vehicle level testing, and analysis of test results to achieve the functional objectives. In addition, the successful candidate will work with vehicle engineering, powertrain engineering, and other organizations achieve these functional objectives and optimize the powertrain functionality.
Requirements:  
  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university 
  • Vehicle level powertrain drivability / capability testing and development experience. 
  • Engine and / or transmission calibration experience including. 
  • Experience using INCA and I-Box equipment 
  • Engine and / or transmission diagnostic experience. 
  • Experience conducting a DVP&R. Capable of managing and analyzing large amounts of data. 
  • Good communication and presentation skills 
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAE J2807 trailer town capability development and testing experience. 
  • Understanding of EPA fuel economy regulations and testing. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skill
