Job Summary: 
The Powertrain Analysis Engineer will be responsible for analyzing fuel economy, acceleration performance, capability (e.g. trailer tow) and drivability for new vehicles using computer modeling techniques and test data evaluation. Using these techniques, the engineer will establish functional objective targets and track status against these targets for specific corporate products. Communicate engineering simulation results in oral presentations and written reports. In addition, the successful candidate will work with vehicle engineering, powertrain engineering, and planning to establish and achieve functional targets that meet competitive needs.   Ed currently fills a "synthesis engineer" role, which is more focused on testing and test planning as opposed to simulation and modeling. The goal is to look for engineers capable of fulfill both roles, with a balanced approach to simulation and testing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering field
  • 1+ years of experience modeling of electrified powertrain components and/or systems.  
  • 1+ years of experience creating virtual models and correlate to real world results.
  • Strong Matlab skills. Familiarity with EPA fuel economy regulations and procedures
  • Knowledge of advanced powertrain technology
  • Experience with diesel technology.
  • Experience with hybrid technology.
  • Capable of quickly managing/processing large amounts of data. Excellent communication and presentation skills
Travel and Driving Notes:
  • May be required to drive a company car. May be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
