Imply Controller
As Imply's first in-house accounting hire, you will make an immediate impact on our rapid growth as you build best practices into our accounting function.
What you'll do:
- Meticulously oversee Imply's Customer Invoicing and Receipts process, providing daily updates to the CEO, Head of Finance, and Account Reps
- Manage full cycle of month-end close of financial records
- Perform monthly key financial review & reconciliation
- Develop policies for core accounting processes including Revenue Recognition, Accruals and Other Estimates, fx translations, and (in the future) consolidation of multiple entities
- Support department leads and head of finance in calculation of department bonuses and commission payouts
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements, to ensure an accurate and timely month-end close and offer actionable insights to our business leaders
- Work closely with Sales Operations and external consultants to automate & streamline the full lifecycle of accounts receivables
- Prepare periodic internal, board, and investor updates
- Manage our core operational accounting needs, including accounts payable, customer receivables, and travel & expense policies and reimbursement
- Ensure receivables are collected promptly and reported correctly
- Develop internal controls and processes that will scale as Imply grows >100 people across multiple offices
- Support the Head of Finance with inputs for financial planning & analysis
What we look for:
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience working in Big 4 and/or in-house at an early-stage SaaS company
- You've built processes from scratch before, and are excited to help lay the foundation for a new function
- Organizational skills and attention to detail — You will chase down dollars and help keep our operations lean
- Partnership mentality — You're excited to work cross-functionally and learn how to best support different departments
- Self-starter — You are comfortable identifying and executing the highest priority projects, but know when to escalate or ask for help
- Excellent communication skills - You present clear and well-documented work that can be easily followed by a third-party. You can make financial results digestible and are comfortable in one-on-one meetings to through all-hands presentations
- CPA or M.Acc preferred
- Well-versed within accounting and ERP software — very comfortable working with advanced features in industry standard accounting software (we use Intacct, Expensify, and Salesforce)
