DevOps Build Engineer

Ready for a challenge!  iHerb is looking to add a Build Engineer to our growing team. At iHerb, DevOps is more than just automating processes. We work closely with more than a dozen software development teams advising them how to best configure their production deployments as well as enforcing best practices and security. We support a 24/7 billion dollar eCommerce website that is hosted around the world in multiple cloud data centers, across several cloud providers and a few dozen containerized applications. From automation to deployment and monitoring, we use the best tools for the job, and constantly evaluate and innovate with world-class technology. You won't be stuck in a dark room writing code all day, you will be talking to developers, troubleshooting issues, building and managing all things container and always working in the cloud.


  • The ability to work with development teams implementing best practices for our CI/CD process
  • The skills to design and develop Release Engineering projects and tools to aid in release pipeline
  • Experience maintaining, optimizing and troubleshooting TFS and build agents
  • The ability to work in cross-functional development teams to build and deploy new software systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux and Bash
  • The ability to work with development teams to help with Docker and dockerfiles
  • Basic knowledge of Docker
  • Prior experience with build and deployment pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • The ability to learn new tools, technologies, programs and concepts quickly
  • Understanding of CI/CD and how that integrates with DevOps
  • Experience with Linux
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to learn and support new systems and applications
  • Experience working with high traffic websites, updating, monitoring, and maintenance strategies
  • Strong knowledge of design and implementation of distributed systems (SOA, Micro Services, Docker, etc.)
  • Knowledge of source control systems
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
  • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
  • Familiarity with E-Commerce
  • Experience in Kubernetes (preferred)
  • Experience with Harness (preferred)
  • A minimum of (3) to (5) years of experience with Build (CI/CD) Engineering 
  • A Associates Degree, preferably in Information Technology or Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent years of experience
