Director, Human Resources & Compliance

Job Summary:
The Director of Human Resources & Compliance is responsible for the oversight of all HR compliance, corporate programs/initiatives and employee relations functions for iHerb. 
 
Job Expectations:
  • Oversee corporate programs and initiatives (performance management, succession planning, policies/procedures, etc.)
  • Oversee HR legal compliance items working with SVP, HR and iHerb Legal department
  • Lead Corporate HR Managers and Distribution Center HR Managers 
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of team member focused programs 
  • Creating and ensuring a diverse workforce
  • Review and implement various HR-related programs for department efficiency 
  • Oversee, participate in, and promote Company and Team Member Communications on various topics
  • Assists SVP, HR on international HR items as required
  • Interact and negotiate with various outside vendors and agencies
  • Creation and analysis of various metrics and reports
  • Special Projects for Executive Team as required
  • Assures consistency in HR policies throughout iHerb
  • Involvement in community relations initiatives
  • Supports management by providing HR advice and counsel
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate on various issues
  • Working with iHerb Legal department, assists in responding on company’s behalf on agency-related complaints (i.e. EEOC, DFEH, etc.)
  • Assists SVP, HR in creating reward and recognition programs
  • Support HR with various team member events 
  • Lead internal audit of internal HR processes and procedures
  • Annually reviews and makes recommendations to SVP of Human Resources for improvement of iHerb’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
  • Maintains responsibility for iHerb compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
  • Communicates changes in iHerb personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed
  • Participates on committees and special projects 
  • Must be ready to step into SVP, Human Resources role in approximately 2 years
  
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
   Required:       
  • Strong management skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex human resource related documents
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to employee groups, management at all levels of the company and occasionally to outside organizations
 
Equipment Knowledge: 
  • Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft office software; Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Strong knowledge and use of Google functions
  • Experience with Workday HCM a plus
 
Experience Requirements:
  • Generally requires a minimum of fifteen (15) years of Human Resources experience with a minimum of ten (10) years management experience
  • Extensive HR employment law experience necessary
 
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
