About the Role:
The Technical Product Manager works closely with one or more Product Managers. The Technical Product Manager is responsible for the execution and profitability of a product line, and rapidly moves between research, design, engineering, and testing. While working primarily working with the Product Management and Engineering team to make business decisions and create product strategies, this role helps to ensure the company and products long term sustainability. By possessing a unique blend of a strong technical background and big-picture vision, you will own the more technical components of the product strategy. The Technical Product Manager a subject matter expert who is able to consult on the more technical aspect of different initiatives. Your technical acumen and deeper familiarity with the inner workings of the engineering department, you will be responsible for reviewing technical specifications, architecture and networking plans, assess whether engineering estimates are correct, and participate in security, scalability and infrastructure activities. This role will assist in evaluating APIs and capabilities, mapping out integration plans, and providing a competitive analysis. Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain, and evangelize the product roadmap which defines product enhancements for short- and long-term releases.
- Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
- Managing the product line life cycle from strategic execution planning to tactical activities.
- Build and enhance products from existing ideas, expand on market requirements, and help develop new concepts based on industry research and the needs of customers and prospects.
- Define the target audience needs and issues by jumping between strategic planning, problem-solving facilitation, ideation sessions, deep-dives into scientific literature, and user testing.
- Work with customers, business development, and solutions architecture to set strategy, collect and prioritize requirements.
- Understand and analyze data pipelines, algorithms and automated systems.
- Serve as the internal and external subject matter expert for product offerings, working with the sales channel and key clients.
- Responsible for product launch and release plans. Coordinates internal and external product launches working with Marketing, Support, Training and many other IA teams.
- Analyze potential partner relationships for the product.
- Work with Training team to develop product training plan internally and externally.
- Act as a product champion within the company.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or related qualification
- 10+ years of hands on experience in product management for an enterprise-focused software company
- Knowledgeable on use of computer technology in the education market.
- Proven success in delivering new products and features
- Demonstrated ability to build and share understanding of enterprise customers
- Ability to set strategic direction, prioritize, and the ability to articulate the rationale behind those decisions
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership ability
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; comfortable interacting with diverse internal and external groups and ability to be involved in sales cycles
- Excellent project management skills; familiarity with both agile and waterfall development methodologies
- A desire to contribute, learn, and make things happen
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
