Job Description:
HMI is Houston's leader in robotic and automation systems and is actively seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our automation team. We are looking for a motivated and experienced developer, ideally experienced with ROS and Gazebo and developing software for field robotic systems on Linux.
Successful candidates for this position will have the following credentials:
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Bachelors in CS (or higher) with minimum 3 years (or 5 years without degree) working with C++ and Python on Linux. We expect someone has supported a deployed solution.
- Experience working on a software team
- Extensive experience with Object Oriented Deigns and Design Patterns
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience with ROS
- Understand Agile methodologies (Scrum)
- Experience with modeling and simulation using Gazebo or a similar physics-based simulator
- Experience with a real-world robotic platform
- Experience with Git and Docker
