About the Role:
HITRECORD is looking for a highly creative, organized, intuitive and responsible person to serve as an Associate Story Editor in its Post Production department. This role is designed for individuals with experience in editing video content while having an eye specifically geared toward story. The ideal candidate will also express interest, knowledge, and experience in routine Media Management duties as well as working closely with Editors and Producers to acquire and refine creative content. You do not necessarily need to have professional post production experience to fill this role. We are seeking someone who is passionate about video editing, talented and proficient in using AVID Media Composer. The position is paid at 50 hours per week for a run of 12 weeks total, beginning no later than the first week of September 2019.

You will:
  • Work closely with HITRECORD's Editors and Producers in creating a variety of content ranging from Internet Videos to Branded Deliverables
  • Edit and organize raw testimonial footage into storied segments, packages and soundbytes
  • Wrangle, download and ingest media from hitrecord.org and other sources into AVID Media Composer
  • Be the point person for all things ‘story’ related to the projects that you are assigned
  • Receive and implement creative direction from Editors and Producers
  • Learn and use the website hitrecord.org and be an active member of the community
  • Prepare materials for creative meetings + reviews included exporting, compressing and QCing video outputs from AVID

Basic Qualifications:
  • You are available full time, Monday to Friday, for a consecutive 12 weeks starting no later than September 1st, 2019
  • Currently living in the greater Los Angeles area
  • You have 2 years minimum experience importing, exporting, syncing and editing story from source material with AVID Media Composer
  • You demonstrate experience to interpret creative direction and address constructive criticism in your work
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments where you manage and successfully meet multiple deadlines
  • You have experience maintaining multiple projects, at different phases in their life cycle, moving forward to a series of scheduled reviews.
  • You are Mac-savvy, and proficient in Google Docs
  • Strong communication skills, with a passion for working in a collaborative environment
