Reporting to the Vice President of Product Management in London, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the product development of Hazelcast Cloud (http://cloud.hazelcast.com), which is a key strategic product. It is a delivery platform for Hazelcast IMDG (http://www.hazelcast.com) (An In-Memory Data Grid), which is similar to a Database but holds all data in memory.
The role will lead to the expansion of the technical offering as well as extending the platform to reach across multiple Cloud Providers. This is a highly technical role, applicants should have a good knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their products.
An element of advocacy and marketing will be expected in this role, so the successful applicant will feel comfortable speaking at conferences and facing off to customers and prospects.
The role is based at our central London offices near Moorgate/Liverpool St/Bank. There is the opportunity to work from home for up to 3 days a week if desired.
Job Responsibilities
- Technical ownership of Cloud delivery Road-map.
- Expand relationships with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Google and Azure.
- Deep Research of competitor platforms.
- Producing Product Requirement Documents that fully elaborate new functionality.
- Management of the product life cycle.
- Working with external stakeholders (customers) and internal (sales, field operations), evaluating product requests and integrating/prioritizing within the road-map.
- Running daily stand-ups with the Cloud engineering team.
- Defining the scope of product releases in conjunction with the Cloud engineering team.
- Producing marketing materials (blog posts, webinars) for each release, liaising with the marketing team to ensure maximum exposure to target audiences.
Essential Skills
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- A comfortable communicator who can impart their vision for the product to different levels of the audience from engineers to C-level executives.
- Demonstrable experience of working with or delivering products to AWS, Azure or GCP platforms.
- Product management of a Cloud offering, from inception to delivery.
- An analytical approach to product investment decisions.
- Experienced in working with 3rd parties, preferably AWS, Azure or GCP representatives.
- Interest in researching, learning and implementing Product Development techniques
- Experience of working daily with a development team.
- Experience of working directly with technical customers such as engineers and DevOps teams.
- 4+ years’ experience working in the digital space.
- At least 1 years experience in product management of a cloud-based platform.
- A Strong sense of ownership and desire to see their product become a key driver of company success.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of working with distributed teams.
- Some programming experience (Java, Python, Go) would be a plus.
- Prior experience of working in the NoSQL/Tech space, strong knowledge of a Cache such as Hazelcast or Redis would be considered a plus.
- An understanding of agile principles (i.e. Scrum and Kanban)
- Experience of using JIRA.
Travel
A small amount of international travel will be required to meet customers and attend company off-sites.
