About the role:
Handy’s Analytics team is responsible for delivering value-added data insights and business-critical reporting that meets the most important business needs.  As the ‘Head of Analytics & Business Insights’, you will be responsible for a team tasked with arming the organization with high quality data, metrics, and analytics to ensure data-backed decisions.

You'll work closely with our engineering, design, operations, marketing, and customer support teams to help build an amazing customer product experience and drive our business forward.

What you'll do:
1. Strategic Analytics - Identify key business questions/problems, structure relevant analyses, and provide data-driven recommendations

  • Monitor the most important business metrics on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis, partner with business owners to analyze trends, and identify opportunities to use data-driven insights to impact key business metrics
  • Work with business owners to align on set of key questions and structure analyses to answer these
  • Conduct regular check-ins with business owners and relevant senior leadership to provide updates on progress
  • Use findings and insights to inform recommendations and testing plans focused on impacting key business metric(s)
  • Disseminate findings from analyses to the company on a regular basis (through lunch & learns, email / slack, etc.)

2. BAU Reporting - Partner with business owners to define critical metrics and support set up of new reporting to monitor these

  • Work with business owners to determine the most important metrics for the team to monitor, define new metrics, and create documentation on definitions
  • Identify any changes to underlying PDTs / Looker views required to calculate new metrics and support team members in executing these changes
  • Support team members in creating, sense-checking, and maintaining new reports / dashboards

3. BAU Reporting - Monitor and maintain automated business-critical reports and dashboards

  • Build, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of executive level reporting
  • Support team members in updating and trouble shooting issues with their reports / dashboards
  • Maintain up-to-date data dictionary with documentation on available data and definitions
  • Contribute to and lead Looker / SQL trainings
  • Regularly hold data office hours

4. Reporting Environment Maintenance - Maintain PDTs and LookML queries so that available data matches the needs of the business

  • Support team in identifying gaps in current PDTs / LookML queries and help them implement updates to improve our data reporting environment
  • For most important / complicated PDTs / LookML queries, efficiently and accurately execute updates to PDT / LookML query logic
  • Identify data gaps in our current logging and propose updates to product management team
  • Advise engineering on the implementation of any new metrics tracking as a key consumer of product data

 What we're looking for:
  • 5+ years product management experience or BI experience at a consumer tech company
  • BA/BS in a highly analytical field, Computer Science preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written
  • A proven track record of planning and shipping successful products
  • Technical experience; you must understand the technical implications of the product decisions you make
  • Attention to detail and an eye for design
  • A passion for the on-demand services space
