We currently have a need to hire one or more exceptional mid-level project managers who have experience developing emergency management plans; operational experience at the Federal, State, or Local level; a track record of academic and professional achievement; and preferably experience successfully managing complex projects.
Responsibilities Include:
After a natural or man-made disaster, the Federal Government, through multiple agencies, supports many recovery operations by providing reimbursement or new funding for:
- Debris removal;
- Emergency protective measures;
- The repair, replacement, or restoration of disaster-damaged, publicly-owned facilities (i.e., municipal buildings, water/wastewater treatment plants, flood control works, roads, and bridges);
- HUD administered Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Section 108 loan guarantee program design, administration, implementation, and monitoring.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in disaster recovery specialist area or public assistance
- In-depth knowledge and experience in grant management activities of the Stafford Act program
- Experience in state or federal grant programs
- • Detail-oriented and able to document/consolidate data from detailed source documentation (timesheets, equipment records, invoices, etc.);
- • Effectively communicate both internally with the client, and also with external stakeholders such as the Federal Government, and other local | state government stakeholders;
- Effectively balance multiple high-priority assignments and actively manage resource participation in the process;
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and proficiency in, Microsoft Office applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business, finance, engineering, architecture, construction management or related field, Or 4 years of experience in emergency management in lieu of a degree.
