HR Generalist (Part Time)

H3O Labs is looking for a Part Time HR Generalist to work 5-15 hours per week. You will serve as partner on Human Resources-related matters with the goal of aligning best HR practices to business strategies. The HR Generalist will collaborate with multiple departments to deliver solutions that address H3O's needs. 

In this role you will perform a variety of administration/professional human resource functions in areas such as compensation, employee relations, EEO/Affirmative Action, and benefits administration. You will be responsible for processing changes in (i.e. employee status, pay, benefits etc.), ensuring data is complete, entering data into the HRIS, and providing guidance to staff regarding human resources policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Recommend, prepare, update and implement human resource policies and procedures adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations while meeting contractual requirements and obligations.
  • Conduct on-boarding of staff, both exempt and non-exempt, including the orientation program for new employees, conducting and analyzing exit interviews, and recommending process changes accordingly.
  • Assist in employee relations, including implementation of EEO policies -- working with management to investigate and resolve employee matters, including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, and other employment issues.
  • Manage the HRIS system, including data input and reporting.
  • Assist with the development, maintenance, and implementation of the Employee Handbook.
  • Identify and solve administrative problems which hinder effective and efficient operations
  • Contribute to initiatives that will enhance motivation, team-building and general welfare.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a HR Generalist with 2-3 years in the government contracting environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of labor laws, to include both federal and state regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated creativity and independence to address work challenges.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentations; ability to speak confidently and effectively to varied audiences; proven professional writing ability, strong grammar and editing skills.
  • Operating experience within a complex, changing environment.

Desired:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
PHR or SPHR (and/or equivalent SHRM certification) certification.
