Energy Engineer

    Responsibilities:
    • Analyze technical reports, life cycle cost estimates, and engineering calculations to maintain energy efficiency for each project.
    • Ability to distinguish the best energy conservation methods for new and pre-existing projects by using energy modeling software and spreadsheets (i.e. Trace and eQuest).
    • Able to distinguish the best conservation methods that meet client’s requirements.
    • Convene with design engineers, architects, construction managers, clients, commissioning agents, and more to review data.
    • Examine specifications, MEP designs, and drawings of metering systems to ensure all M&V requirements are upheld. Suggest changes if needed.
    • Evaluate large quantities of building automation system data to uncover any operational issues that may alter the code, comfort, or energy efficiency requirements. Ability to detect these issues with the utilization of BAS Graphics, AFD Software, or Excel Tools.
    • Implement building energy audits that comply with ASHRAE standards for each project, as well as performance contracting projects.

    Requirements
    • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related field (required).
    • Proficiency in Excel VBA and dealing with large data sets (desired). 
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office and experience with energy modeling software and building automation systems.
    • Familiar with ASHRAE standards, building MEP systems, green building rating systems, and 90.1.
