Position Summary
As a Precision Agriculture Technician, you will provide a critical on-farm role dedicated to knowing our customers’ land. Your role will include specialized tasks of field mapping and soil sampling. Planning, organization, and equipment maintenance are significant factors that will contribute to your success in this position. 
 
Position Responsibilities 
Your role as a Precision Agriculture Technician is one that will require you to problem solve, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and allow you to grow your agricultural and machinery knowledge. A Precision Agriculture Technician does the following: 
  •  Performs all field operation assignments, including but not limited to, running GPS boundaries, soil conductivity mapping, and soil sampling. 
  • Organizes and verifies that time-sensitive information, soil conductivity mapping data, and soil samples are made available to the data department.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance and repairs on all machinery and equipment (such as cleaning, greasing, replacing parts, etc.) and actively communicates equipment concerns to the Field Operations Manager. Assist Account Manager(s) on an as-needed basis.
 
Technical Skills 
A Precision Agriculture Technician must be skilled in operating agricultural equipment and must safely and efficiently drive a truck and trailer. You will be successful if you are proficient in the following: 
  • Operating, maintaining and repairing truck and trailer, side-by-side vehicles, small engines, and hydraulic soil probes.
  • Understanding basic agronomy and precision agriculture practices and technologies. 
  • Reporting fieldwork status to the Field Operations Manager.  
  • Maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment and machinery.

Position Requirements 
  • 1+ year of field technician and/or agriculture experience, crop production preferred.
  • Eagerness to travel. 
  •  Equipment/machinery operation and maintenance experience.
  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer.
  • Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record is required.
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions (hot/wintry weather, dust exposure, etc.)
  • 75%  local travel, 25% out-of-state travel.
