    ABOUT YOU:
    We are looking to hire an intelligent, diligent, and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to join our growing team and hit the ground running delivering valuable contributions to our supply chain operations. You’ll wear many hats and be exposed to various facets of the coffee business from sourcing and production to retail and wholesale distribution.     WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    Purchasing of Coffee 
    • Interact with Coffee Department to identify and select coffees of need
    • Solicit bids for Coffees of need from existing and potential brokers
    • Evaluate broker offers for price/quality benchmarks
    • Analyze offer lists to identify additional coffee purchasing opportunities
    • Coordinate inbound samples for entry into Cropster and planned qualitative analysis
    • Coordinate with Coffee and Finance departments on final purchase of approved Coffees
    • Negotiate pricing and terms with current and potential brokers
    • Manage the release of coffee into 3PL accounts
    • Enter Coffee Purchase, receipt and invoice into SAP
    • Continuously update Master Coffee Inventory Sheet to include new purchases 
     
    Coffee Supply Chain Management
    • Manage the current inventory of Coffee across multiple physical warehouses and 3PLs
    • Update Master Coffee Inventory Sheet to include current inventory and in-transit coffees
    • Arrange warehouse transfers and shipment of coffees on a weekly and as needed basis
    • Advise warehouse staff of incoming coffee shipments
    • Complete warehouse transfers and inventory adjustments within SAP
    • Collaborate with Coffee department regarding inventory and financial impact of Coffee/blend changes and additions
     
    General Supply Chain Management
    • Negotiate pricing and terms with new and existing vendors 
    • Source and purchase all Ancillary Products for wholesale and retail
    • Advise sales and operations departments of existing costs and propose wholesale and retail pricing 
    • Manage inventory of products and re-order as necessary to meet service and financial targets 
    • Advise departments of issues affecting product availability, such as supply chain issues, minimum orders, out-of-stock and slow-moving products. 
    • Coordinate the purchase of all packaging, both stock and custom, for wholesale and retail 
    • Coordinate storage and delivery of all packaging, utilizing existing facility resources, blanket purchase orders, 3PLs, purchase agreements, JIT and stocking agreements 
    • Provide cost & availability analysis on existing products and new products and research and development 
    • Negotiate and coordinate in-bound and out-bound freight 
     
    SAP
    • Administrator for all inventory and non-inventory items
    • New item set-up
    • Item cost and quantity accuracy
    • Item consistency
    • Create and manage bills-of-material
    • Adjust SAP for monthly physical inventory count adjustments
    • Troubleshoot SAP inventory and production issues
    • Receive Inventory in SAP
    • Review inventory valuation reports for accuracy
    • Analyze vendor compliance, review and approve purchase orders and invoices
     
    Other Responsibilities
    • Ad-hoc projects as needed per customer request, such as new item cost analysis.
     

    WHAT IT TAKES TO ROCK THIS ROLE:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
    • 4+ years experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain management 
    • Experience with SAP Business One preferred
    • Experience with coffee commodity trading preferred
    • Must thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and be highly organized, able to multi-task, and have the capacity to work in a growing and evolving work environment.
    • Must have strong and effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be proactive and possess strong time management skills
    • Strong Negotiation Skills
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft office –Outlook, Excel, and Word
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure.  Able to maintain focus when operating in a busy, distracting environment. Willing to pitch-in wherever needed, adapt to changing priorities, work environments, and management styles.  Able to deal skillfully and promptly to new situations.
    • Ability to receive feedback and coaching from others on your performance, and use the feedback and coaching to learn and improve.
    • Open to change and able to learn quickly when facing new and unfamiliar tasks or challenges.
