HR Generalist

ABOUT YOU:
We are currently looking to hire a career-minded candidate for the position of Human Resources Generalist. The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level, working closely with senior management in supporting various HR functions from full-cycle recruitment and employee on-boarding to benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Oversee full cycle recruitment including consultations with hiring managers, jobs ads, reviewing applications, & scheduling and conducting interviews using Google Hire ATS.
  • Facilitate employee orientation, development, and training; coordinating job shadow opportunities for new hires to gain exposure to all aspects of the business. 
  • Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, periodically audit Forms I-9, and utilize E-Verify during new hire orientation.
  • Advise managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company. Guide managers on how to handle employment issues.
  • Assist in employee relations and address any workplace concerns and conflicts while preserving the employer-employee relationship through effective employee relations strategies.
  • Maintain employee personnel files; both hard copy and electronically. 
  • Monitor employee eligibility for benefits enrollment. Review benefits with employees and process enrollments, cancellations, or changes. 
  • Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs and events.
  • Assist with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Assist with the establishment of employee training systems that address the company's training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or on-boarding, management development, cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and maintaining training records. 
  • Assist with the implementation of company safety and health programs. 
  • Assist with additional HR and/or administrative tasks as needed or directed.

       
WHAT IT TAKES TO ROCK THIS ROLE:
  • Minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience required
  • Bilingual candidate preferred but not required (English, Spanish)
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable CA and OR State and Federal regulations
  • Strong HRIS skills required (we use Paycom and Google Hire)
  • Computer literacy: comfortable with Microsoft Office and Google Suite (particularly Excel)
  • Highest professional standards regarding internal customer service, confidentiality and ethical conduct required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills in managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
