Cares for students under the supervision of the Overnight Supervisor during the overnight and morning routines by performing the following duties.
Associates Degree in field related to human services; or 6 months experience working in the field of human services with a minimum of Certificate of Achievement from public high school in Massachusetts, documentation of home schooling equivalent to a high school diploma, GED, or High School Diploma.
Specialized training or specific skills; student intern experience or volunteer work may be credited toward experience.
Meets all essential student needs each shift, according to guidelines.
Performs interventions that support the Stetson School’s ACORN approach. Demonstrates care giver qualities that treat all students with dignity and respect.
Prevents interactions that are not sanctioned within the rules, practices, and policies of Stetson School. Prevents actions and disparaging comments that may be considered horseplay, roughhousing, and/or derogatory comments and demeaning gestures.
Maintains appropriate staff to student interactions including professional boundaries.
Acts as a role model and reinforces pro-social behaviors.
Promotes and supports the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu.
Instructs students regarding desirable behavioral, health, hygiene, and personal habits as they apply to
Stetson School policy and procedure.
Responds to student’s behavior in accordance with Stetson School’s Behavior Management policy and the principles of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
Performs the activities of TCI physical intervention as noted on page six (6) titled, Addendum to Essential Functions Regarding Specific Activities of TCI Restraint Process.
Ensures least restrictive measures of therapeutic physical interventions.
Processes issues and/or incidents with students as outlined within TCI practice and in accordance with individual treatment plans.
Seeks in-charge approval, for responses and programs as indicated.
Performs the activities of TCI physical intervention as noted page five (5) titled, Addendum to Essential Functions Regarding Specific Activities of TCI Restraint Process.
