The Product team at Swiftly cherishes the delicate balance among delivering customer value, growing a sustainable business, and working within technical constraints. We listen carefully and empathize with customers and end users to understand their pain points and craft smart and lovely solutions that scale. We help everyone at the company understand why features and products are important, so that our designers and developers are equipped to solve root problems, our data scientists can structure queries that support product development, and our sales team can connect our work to a compelling narrative grounded in the user’s needs.

While our customers are transit agencies and operators, we never lose sight of the fact that our users and those they seek to impact - transit riders - are human. We are meticulous about every transition and user flow to ensure that our products are intuitive, valuable, and engaging.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own product delivery. Organize development work and remove bottlenecks as they arise to ensure we’re meeting internal deadlines and goals.
  • Nurture a regular release cycle inclusive of rigorous testing, and document release notes for internal and external consumption.
  • Derive key metrics for feature and product releases, and use various analytics tools to measure and communicate success (or failure).
  • Track and categorize anecdotal feedback and requests from customers and prospective customers.
  • Manage project boards to give constant, updated visibility to progress on product development.
  • Work with the development team to break down technical work into prioritized, granular, executable tasks.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders when their input is needed or when we require any technical information from them.
  • Always know where a project is, who is working on what and why, and whether there are any constraints or limitations for getting promised work done.
  • Be the front line of protection for the development team from ad hoc, distracting requests and subjective feedback to make sure everyone is focused on the highest-impact work.
  • Communicate progress to the rest of the company/team in weekly all-hands meetings.

Skills

Our ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a product manager and will excel at:
  • Working through technical issues with engineers
  • Introducing and maintaining software process management tools that support development practices like Kanban or Scrum
  • Facilitating reflective practice to continually iterate and increase team productivity and velocity
  • Organizing varied and fragmented information
  • Managing projects from inception through completion
  • Leading teams to execute on deliverables with tight deadlines
  • Documenting progress in transparent, easy-to-understand ways
  • Asking for and giving feedback
  • Articulating and defending the reasoning behind decisions
