We’re looking for a well-rounded Marketing Manager/Senior Manager to help us scale our efforts as Shippo continues to grow. Today, Marketing at Shippo is a lean team of contributors that punch above their weight to achieve our high-reaching goals. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of multiple marketing projects that have a real impact on Shippo’s growth and our customers. This high-impact role reports to the Head of Marketing and requires collaboration with stakeholders across Product Development, Sales, Customer Success, and Design.
 
SOME OF THE THINGS YOU COULD WORK ON 
 
  • Work closely with customer-facing teams and Product Development to better understand and segment Shippo’s customers and prospects. Use this understanding to develop messaging and marketing campaigns that resonate with different customer types.
  • Analyze Shippo’s acquisition channels and partners to tailor the onboarding experience for customers depending on their channel. For example, you might create a tailored nurture flows for a customer that signs up through the Wix app store vs. one that signs up through Shippo’s site.
  • Help our Sales teams to craft clear, and concise email copy for inbound and outbound sales efforts.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to create co-marketing programs for Shippo’s strategic partners. For example, you might work with one of our e-commerce platform partners, like Shopify, to identify co-marketing activities that increase the percent of Shopify merchants that use Shippo.
  • Be a part-time webmaster for our marketing website, goshippo.com (hosted on WordPress). This includes researching and executing SEO optimization opportunities, messaging updates, new landing pages, and more. You will have the support of a web developer, a designer, SEO software, and our current webmaster. 
  • You tell us what you should do and what you want to do. We don’t need you to be a full-time expert in all of these areas nor do want to restrict you to a bullet point list of activities. The ideal candidate will work with leadership to identify new high-leverage activities and opportunities for growth. Our job is to set you up for success and let you take ownership as a marketer.

 
REQUIREMENTS
 
  • 3+ years experience in B2B marketing, ideally at well-recognized brands, in B2B SaaS technology.
  • Strong external and internal communication skills. The ability to clearly communicate Shippo’s value and offerings to diverse external audiences + communicate goals, tactics, and progress to internal stakeholders are critical for this role. 
  • Demonstrated ability to write engaging short and long-form copy. Examples could include, but are not limited to: sales emails, blog posts, whitepapers, and press releases.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically when evaluating projects. You don’t need to be a data analyst, but you should be able to identify success metrics, track, and report the impacts of projects. Familiarity with Looker, Heap, Mode, and / or Pendo are bonuses.
  • History of being a team player, and desire to jump in and get your hands dirty as needed.
  • Familiarity and experience using marketing software including email automation, CRM, lead capture, and analytics. Some of our primary tools include, HubSpot, SFDC, Google Analytics, Pendo, OptiminMonster, and Drift.
  • Knowledge about SEO strategy and experience managing corporate/marketing websites.
  • Previous experience in or knowledge about e-commerce, logistics, and or shipping is a major bonus, but not required.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field and/or equivalent work experience.
