The accounting associate will report to the SVP Finance and support a variety of financial analysis around cash, accounts payable, capital planning, and tax. Responsibilities
- Daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting functions
- Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
- Manage and review the company’s third party administrators’ work
- Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
- Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
- Assist with tax documents and K-1s
- Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about novelty in the field
- Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function
- Support the quarterly portfolio company valuation process
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in accounting
- Solid business acumen and understanding of basic financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and other investment-related statements
- Thoughtful, analytical, and inquisitive personality with exceptional attention to and appreciation for details and accuracy
- High-integrity individual with ability to exercise discretion in managing confidential information
- Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office
- Outstanding presentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven knowledge of accounting and corporate finance
- Well informed in current financial subjects
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
