RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the evaluation and decision process for adopting the business intelligence tools (platforms) that Goalcast will use to manage and display data and insights
- Help develop, build out and automate reports/dashboards across properties that provide insights into our audience (i.e. content consumption, topic performance, engagement/loyalty, traffic).
- Provide data-driven insights to inform our broader content and business strategy and drive decisions across distributed platforms (eg. Youtube), social media (eg. Instagram) and the website
- Collaborate cross-functionally with “circle” project teams within the organization to help teams achieve their Key Result goals
- Apply data mining and information gathering techniques to identify and interpret patterns and trends in visitor and subscriber behaviour on the website
- Identify new growth opportunities and best practices based on emerging digital trends, competitive business intelligence and consumer insight
QUALIFICATIONS & MUST HAVES
2-3 years experience as a Data Analyst/Developer, ideally at a digital publisher (websites & apps)- Degree in Mathematics and Statistics / Physics / Computer Science / Business Analytics / Economics or any other quantitative field
- Hands-on experience with dashboard development
- Proficiency with analytics tools like Tubular, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics & Adsense, along with the obvious, like Excel and Google Sheets
- Strong understanding of data visualization and working with large datasets, experience working with Tableau/Domo, SQL or BigQuery
- Strong conceptual/analytical/creative thinker – ability to push beyond specific requests and identify the business need in advance of execution
- Understanding of statistical concepts
- A proactive team player who functions well with some ambiguity and need for self-direction
