Manufacturing Sciences Corporation (MSC) is a Specialty Metal Manufacturer with the ability to process & manufacture technology metals in an Environmentally Sound, Safe and Controlled location. We have over 35 years of experience with depleted Uranium. We are the only commercial organization in the world with the capability to cast, roll and machine products from depleted Uranium. MSC is in search of a Sales Representative who wants to make a direct impact on the business by partnering with the management team and our technical experts.
This external facing position is key in establishing and maintaining customer relationships to ensure on-going business and identification of new opportunities. The representative acts as the liaison between the company and the customer, balancing the needs of the customer and the capabilities and requirements for the company. A successful candidate will:
- Identify key projects for bid and lead the effort to develop and submit project bid proposals while interfacing with Engineering, Operations and Accounting to review contracts, and technical capabilities
- Determine customer needs and potential volume, clarify requirements and recommends the company capabilities and/or solutions by actively participate in customer meetings to exchange technical information and/or recommend manufacturing changes
- Maintain customer contact to monitor satisfaction. Promptly contact the customer to communicate any changes and work to resolve any order problems
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints within scope of expertise and authority
- Review and assess market, industry trends, activities, look for upsides and other market opportunities, plan and consult with executive management regarding customer market slow downs that may impact company
- Monitor and evaluate competitor product lines and competitive pricing issues as it pertains to the company and its products.
- Develop new business opportunities in support of sales goals and acquire new accounts
- Compile and consistently update a list of prospective customers while working to convert prospective customers to active accounts
- Develop and deliver sales presentations to prospects, customers and partners.
- Use the company systems to document all sales contacts, call reports, sales call itineraries, sales activity calendar, sales data and sales forecasts including tracking win/ loss to show individual performance against goals
- Provides management team input to help establish sales goals, sales forecast and budgets
- Maintain membership and active involvement in industry, trade and professional organizations via attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Represent company at Trade Shows, Trade Association meetings and other related events to promote the company and its products

The position will be based in Oak Ridge and will require 30 - 35% travel.
Minimum Required Education & Experience:
- Must be proficient in developing interpersonal relationships
- Have excellent communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent organizational and planning skills;
- PC skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Prior experience in CRM software
Preferred Education & Experience:
- 2 - 5 years outside sales experience in metals manufacturing
- Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing or other related technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in working for or with the NRC, DOE or other government facility
