Description

We are currently seeking a full-time immigration paralegal assistant to join our immigration team. The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work within a team. 

This position will reside in San Jose, CA and will be responsible for preparation of a broad range of immigration matters. 
 
Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and files petitions and applications for submission to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
  • Organizes and prepares petition packets for review and filing
  • Enters and maintains data in immigration case management system
  • Utilizes web-based immigration case-management system and database system continuously and accurately
  • Organizes and maintains immigration files
  • Maintains hard copy files and documents as required to support all immigration activity
  • Coordinates with onsite employees on documentation required for visa applications 
  • Administrative tasks including but not limited to scanning, copying, coordinating with Front Desk on shipping and return labels, record update, keeping and information sharing 
  • Coordinates with vendors for evaluation and translations of foreign degrees
  • Knowledgeable regarding the concepts, practices, and procedures of USCIS
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

Job Requirements:

  • 2-3 years experience working in an office environment (preferably in a law firm or global setting)
  • Exceptional writing and organizational skills 
  • Ability to maintain performance level in a fast-paced, agile environment with shifting priority levels and deadlines
  • Ability to function as part of a team
  • Manage caseload with a large degree of independence
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience as an immigration paralegal
  • Degree in a Legal Field preferred
