Freelance Junior Paid Social Media Strategist - Remote

Giant Spoon is looking for a  Freelance Junior Paid Media Strategist to help manage and optimize engaging campaigns for a diverse client portfolio. The ideal candidate will help the Performance Media team translate business objectives into actionable strategy – getting appropriate stakeholders, both internal and external, to align on campaign execution. Familiarity with mainstream platforms (e.g., Facebook, AdWords, Twitter, and LinkedIn) is preferred. A plug into emerging platforms like Reddit, Snapchat, and Pinterest is a plus.
 
Reporting to the Associate Director of Performance Media, this role will collaborate on digital strategy, campaign execution, and optimization efforts for our LA and NYC office. Collaboration is key at Giant Spoon, so, the ability to maintain a collaborative work environment with other agency disciplines is a must! Cross-functional support from analytics/media is implicit, but we’re looking for a do-er to take the reins and level-up our performance capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Help to develop, implement and execute Performance Media campaigns (mainly paid social &  some programmatic) aligned with the defined strategy to achieve desired business results marketing outcomes
  • Work with the Performance Media Strategist to deploy successful bidding strategies, placement mixes and effective campaign management 
  • Aggregate reports on a weekly/semi-monthly/monthly basis while working with the Analytics team to generate insights, track performance,  calculate basic KPIs, understanding how metrics effect each other and make informed decisions about optimizations
  • Maintain a solid understanding of client objectives and campaign strategy as defined by the Associate Director of Performance and Senior Strategists
  • Understand and execute quality assurance (QA) best practices for all Performance Media campaigns
  • Become proficient with 3rd party ad-serving, tracking & analytical platforms 
  • Investigate ways to potentially improve performance of our clients’ advertising, including researching new media vehicles relevant to our media campaigns and working with publisher reps to develop new tactics (placements, creative units, etc.) 
  • Work with the Finance team to manage client billing, including budget actualization and reconciliation to ensure all planned media and is invoiced/credited properly

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of experience working in paid social. 
  • Familiarity with paid search platforms (Google Ads, Bing Ads) is preferred but not required; prior experience with programmatic campaigns a plus
  • Experience in paid social platforms including Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads Manager and LinkedIn Campaign Manager is preferred
  • Familiarity with social ad formats, specs and measurement implementation associated with specific platforms
  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm for Performance Media and an inherent desire to learn about all aspects of the digital media landscape, particularly performance media
  • Ability to multitask and scale efforts across accounts, campaign objectives and digital tasks
  • Experience with budget, billing and invoicing is a plus
  • Strong organization, interpersonal and project management skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred
