Director of Finance

Mulberry is disrupting a $40B insurance industry by providing omnichannel merchants a seamless plug-and-play platform from which to offer product insurance. Our platform not only drives revenue for brands, but also improves customer experience and trust in warranty programs.

Mulberry is hiring for a talented & experienced Director of Finance to help all aspects of Mulberry’s business function. You'll be joining a close-knit, agile team and will be expected to bring proven processes, systems and best practices to the organization, while serving as a crucial resource to Ops, Sales, Data Science and the CEO. 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all in-house accounting, including monthly reconciliation of Mulberry’s books 
  • Manage Mulberry’s Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable 
  • Continuously analyze the viability of Mulberry’s existing & new warranty programs, from a pricing perspective 
  • Run regular reporting around Mulberry’s active warranty programs, to help inform business strategy 
  • Build out financial models to help the business plan for growth 
  • Work with Sales & Data Science to develop compelling customer pricing for Mulberry’s various retail partners 
  • Work with Technology to ensure data integrity across sales reporting 
  • Create & implement an organization-wide yearly budget 
  • Assist the CEO with additional projects, as needed 

What We’re Seeking: 

  • At least 7 years’ experience in an accounting and/or financial analyst role 
  • A keen eye for process improvement, with a strong head for strategy 
  • Able to work cross-functionally, with multiple teams & stakeholders 
  • Driven and ready for a challenge 
  • Technical, detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to analyze and synthesize data 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion for process, technology & systems 
  • Empathetic, smart and ambitious
  • Can-do attitude: no task is too small or too large 
  • Solutions-oriented & able to problem solve in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to take on multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting and managing deadlines

  • Great sense of humor 


  • CFA or CPA certified
  • Experience working for a startup or on a small team 
  • Familiarity with the e-commerce and/or insurance spaces
