Summary of Position: The Accounting Manager supports the CFO, Controller, and Assistant Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting/Accounts Payable Departments in order to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the Company’s financial records in accordance with USGAAP in addition to company policies and procedures.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Related Field
Experience: 3-5 years Accounts Payable Experience strongly preferred; 7-10 years of Accounting Experience strongly preferred
Skills: Good organization and time management, Excellent Written and Verbal Skills, Good interpersonal and communication skills, good judgment, planning skills and strong managerial ability, excellent knowledge of mathematics, financial matters and accounting, excellent analysis and observation skills, knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office
Requirements: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or active pursuit, preferred; 3-5 supervisory/management experience is preferred; Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable
Physical: Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel. Regularly required to talk or hear and see.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Direct oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable Department to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor, invoices, payment runs, and invoice dispute resolution
2. Responsible for setting up all new vendors and maintaining proper documentations to meet 1099 and all other governmental requirements
3. Research, review and recommend viable opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline the accounts payable function
4. Maintain fixed assets database (SAGE) including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
5. Assist in inventory count and reconciliation process
6. Oversee cash reconciliations and maintain daily cash balance requirements
7. Assist with the annual financial audit, preparing schedules as requested by external auditors, and responding to auditor inquires
8. Assist in the preparation of budget worksheets, department review, and consolidation
9. Manage or participate in special projects as required
10. Participate in company training as required
