  • JOB SUMMARY: The Marketing Specialist is responsible for promoting First US Bank through the development and management of marketing initiatives, including enhancing the bank’s image through professional communication efforts.  

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:   

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field or equivalent experience 

    2. Minimum of four years of marketing experience or equivalent training 

    3. Strong creative ability to develop ads/collateral materials promoting bank products/services 

    4. Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills 

    5. Ability to be a team-player in a leadership and support role 

    6. Excellent skills in managing multiple tasks requiring strong attention to detail 

    7. Results-oriented, flexible and demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work assignments 

    8. Exceptional ability to write, proofread and edit written work 

    9. Computer aptitude, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs, graphic design programs and other software  

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    1. Develops a marketing strategy supporting strategic plan initiatives across bank functions, including subsidiaries and related lines of business.   

    2. Develops an in-depth knowledge of the bank's products and services, including digital transaction and communication channels.   

    3. Facilitates the creation and production of marketing, collateral and business development packaging materials:  

    • Includes strong graphic design expertise for print ads, promotional collateral material and online/digital graphic promotional advertising. 
    • Ensures a consistent branding image is maintained in all FUSB advertising/collateral materials.  
    • Within the creative development scope, welcomes input for revisions based upon alternative objectives.  

    4. Coordinates advertising schedules and placement, as required for ads placed market publications, on-line and community program books, newsletters, etc.  

    5. Creates and distributes press releases highlighting noteworthy news events within the bank. 

    6. Reviews specifications sheets, obtains and prepares bids, and acts as Specialist with vendors when delivering marketing material and scheduling proofs and meetings.  

    7. Communicates with staff and outside vendors (e.g. designers, printers, mail houses, copy writers, and media ad providers) in coordinating the implementation of marketing promotions and projects. 

    8. Compiles and produces sales and marketing reports for assigned programs. 

    9. Assists in ongoing process improvement within First US Bank’s online website and creates online content for FUSB website. 

    10. Creates strategies and ideas to promote the bank through social media. 

    11. Tracks, collates and maintains inventory of marketing materials, as required.  

    12. Maintains inventory of photo work, artwork and media work, and maintains marketing collateral material, archive files and sample files. Ensures all photos and artwork are properly licensed. 

    13. Manages an ongoing budget to ensure prudent expense control. 

    14. Plays an active role as called upon for internal and external event planning and management.  Assists with presentations as needed for bank meetings. 

    15. Assists Line of Business heads (Retail, Commercial, Mortgage) with the knowledge of ongoing community events, including but not limited to:  market business development opportunities, chamber events, expositions, school business development opportunities and other client acquisition programs.  

    16. Works in close conjunction with Compliance to insure all marketing materials are compliant following regulatory guidelines. Ensures regulatory signage is compliant within the bank and banking centers. 

    17. Assists with marketing support for the mortgage service subsidiary. 

    18. Contributes to a positive team working experience within the bank. 

    19. May assist with additional projects as requested.
