Application Development Analyst - ServiceNow

Gentis Solutions is seeking the services of an experienced Application Development Analyst, in support of a Client's ServiceNow migration project.

Position Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and use of formal full-lifecycle development, package implementation, and business process reengineering methodology;  
  • Ability to develop and write clear and concise technical process documentation;  
  • Proficiency in ITIL best practices and experience working in an Agile development environment;  
  • A track record of having implemented, enhanced and supported an enterprise-class technology system, including planning, analysis and design, configuration, development, data migrations, system testing, cutover planning, and production support;  
  • Skill in effort & schedule estimation and provide inputs to project managers;  
  • Working development experience of form customization, business rule, client script, script include, UI policies, security rules, and other objects of ServiceNow;  
  • Proficiency in Javascript, VSTS, Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, REST/SOAP)  and of working in a SaaS environment;  
  • Design, development, and deployment experience with the ServiceNow platform;  
  • Must be self-driven, a good communicator, a team player and a mentor to team members;  
  • Should be well-equipped with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to take ownership of multiple complex tasks;  
  • Ability to follow and implement industry best practices for release and environment management, source code control;  
  • Ability to work as a member of the ServiceNow team in order to lead and drive technical solution design sessions for assigned ServiceNow applications, and generate the related solution documentation;  
  • 5+ years of technical experience with ServiceNow (expert level);  
  • 2+ years of experience developing business applications using ServiceNow;  
  • Certification as a ServiceNow Administrator; and  
  • Experience in architectural design.  

The Application Development Analyst position is responsible for, but is not limited to, the following activities:

  • Provide weekly status reports to cover project deliverables;  
  • Validate architectural design;  
  • Perform Gap analysis of existing workflows as compared to industry best practices, and assist with alignment of current business processes with best practices and industry standards;  
  • Configure application-related:  
    • Fields;  
    • Forms and views; and  
    • Dashboards and homepages.  
  • Create User Interface (UI) Policies based on conditions set for new and existing form fields;  
  • Create Client Scripts to configure forms and form fields;  
  • Build new email notifications and notification templates;  
  • Build new workflows for order guides and catalog items;  
  • Develop and document repeatable build-out processes;  
  • Modify existing, or create new, tables and table fields, as needed, to incorporate new functionality;  
  • Create orchestrated activities to automate current provisioning tasks;  
  • Configure the following:
    • Request-level approvals;  
    • Reports and dashboards for users, managers, and executives;  
    • Integrations between ServiceNow and FDC human resources databases;  
    • Application roles and access controls; and  
    • The application's relationship to other installed ServiceNow applications.
  • Design appropriate solutions for data import/export between ServiceNow and other systems;  
  • Develop and provide training to diverse user audiences that have a variety of technical skill levels;  
  • Develop business applications using ServiceNow standard technology;  
  • Review current and upcoming business, functional, and system requirements with development, project, and if required, business teams;  
  • Plan and build variable sets to include all the fields needed on end-user forms and create any needed field dependencies;  
  • Translate functional specifications into logical, component-based technical designs;  
  • Perform integrations and process automation using ServiceNow orchestration;  
  • Develop, configure, and improve core and custom applications;  
  • Develop system integrations and process automation while identifying opportunities to leverage automation; and 
  • Other duties as related to application development and the ServiceNow environment.
