As a Recruiter at Genius it will be your responsibility to identify, hire, and retain the best possible candidates for all job openings.

Founded in 2009, Genius is a unique media company that’s powered by community, our in-house creative team, and the artists themselves. We serve music knowledge to over 100 million people each month on, Spotify, and everywhere music fans connect across the internet.


  • Source and develop relationships with passive candidates for job openings across all departments through a combination of high volume email, phone calls, and IRL events
  • Work with hiring managers to identify ideal candidate types, build job descriptions and interview plans
  • Work with the rest of the recruiting team to review all incoming resumes and manage our ATS (Applicant Tracking System)
  • Conduct first round phone interviews with candidates and provide detailed notes to hiring managers 
  • Manage and support every candidate through the entire interview process
  • Where necessary, identify and retain external search firms 
  • Produce and meet weekly goals and provide weekly recruiting updates 
  • Work closely with our Head of HR and Head of Recruiting to support all matters related to the “People” department
  • Mentor and delegate tasks to Recruiting Coordinator
  • Ambassador to Genius at all times 


  • In house or agency recruiting and sales or customer service experience
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System, preferably Greenhouse or Google Hire
  • Experience in the music/media or tech/startup industry
  • A strong network of talent, particularly in advertising, digital media, and technology
  • Insatiable desire to be as efficient and effective as possible in all things
