Cook Assisted Living

210 Bed Assisted Living Facility in East New York, Brooklyn seeks a Lead Cook/ Chef to prepare meals based on menus designed by a registered dietitian for facility residents. Responsibilities will include: Maintaining a regular cooking schedule, to ensure high quality meals for the residents; maintaining the dining room and kitchen area clean and properly sanitized at all times; oversee compliance with Department of Health regulations as it relates to the kitchen and dining room; work closely with the registered dietitian to adequately plan menus; strictly adhere to and execute menus as directed by the dietitian; assist in the training of all food service staff; conduct orientation of newly hired dietary staff; collaborate with other applicable department heads, in preparation of facility events and activities where food is needed; possess a genuine loving, caring and compassionate attitude for our residents. Ensure resident satisfaction through clear, open communication with our residents, resident council members and food committee; must have prior experience preparing meals in a congregate care setting or other large venue. Candidate must be able to read and write English.
