Outbound Business Development Representative

We're a Cambridge-based team working on building the best Salesforce release management solution on the market, and we're looking for an Outbound Business Development Representative (BDR) to define, shape and execute on an outbound sales model to further accelerate our growth.

Gearset has enjoyed massive growth over the last three years, more than doubling each year, and we’ve driven that with a completely inbound approach to sales. All of our customers find us  via high quality, targeted content marketing. With this underlying growth engine humming nicely, we now want to supplement this with an effective, excellently delivered outbound model. 

This isn’t your typical boiler room outbound role. At Gearset a few tenets stand true:

You'll join a rapidly-growing sales team where you can really make an impact. You'll have the opportunity to build relationships with some of the largest companies in the world, helping them understand the benefits of Gearset through our unique blend of consultative sales and top-notch customer service, while building a deep knowledge of our product and the solutions we offer. 

What we're looking for:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A customer-centric approach to sales 
  • Previous experience in a similar environment 
  • An ability to learn new technology and demo products and features to prospective customers
  • Continuous communication with prospects via email and phone
  • A team player to help shape our rapidly-growing company

Your responsibilities might include:

  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly sales goals
  • Balance meeting sales targets with providing best-in-class customer experience and support
  • Generate new product sales to new customer accounts
  • Identify high value opportunities through strategic and targeted prospecting into large organisations
  • Act as a trusted advisor
  • Share ideas and coordinate with the marketing and development teams to discover new sales opportunities
  • Suggest improvements to optimise the sales process for the team

Nice to haves:

  • Existing sales experience with a proven track record for growing sales
  • Experience selling a SaaS product


  • You'll work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in our Cambridge office
