Summary
Assists Center Manager in the daily operations of the center, supervising operations and ensuring compliance with all applicable policy, procedures and regulations. Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, Current Good Manufacturing Principles and Company Policies. Ensure all facilities are in compliance with all applicable state, federal, consignees and GCAM designated regulations.
Essential duties and responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain thorough familiarity and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Standard Operating Procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
- Work in conjunction with Center Manager to prepare for all external audits.
- Establish and maintain the ability to perform all tasks within the donor center; fulfill role of production employee when need arises.
- Plan and coordinate daily operation of center.
- Prepare schedules for adequate staffing.
- Review documents for accuracy and perform documentation in a concise manner.
- Monitor staff for compliance and accuracy in processing donors.
- Assist in scheduling in-services and safety classes; participate and lead discussion as required.
- Interview and recommend candidates for hiring as requested by Center Manager.
- Assist/perform employee evaluations; perform staff reviews using formal and informal feedback.
- Monitor disposal of hazardous waste.
- Monitor calibration and annual preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Monitor disposal of all unacceptable goods.
- Responsible for review of test results as delegated by Center Manager.
- Monitor or assist in checking accuracy of packing units, preparation of legible, concise shipment documents for all shipments.
- Correspond with all testing laboratories in regards to test results. Responsible for handling all positive test results according to SOP.
- Responsible for accuracy of inventory controls.
- Maintain adequate supplies for all tasks at center.
- Review inventory counts to check for wastage of supplies.
- Prepare all reports in a timely manner.
- Prepare and report payroll if required by Center Manager.
- Review SOP monthly.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating operations, including staffing, marketing, HR, budgeting, quality and regulatory; provide feedback to Center Manager.
- Resolve issues between staff and donors.
- Report emergency situations immediately.
- Assist in providing suggestions for procedure and/or policy changes.
- Delegate or train new employees; maintain Trainer Certification if requested by Center Manager.
- Responsible to train other management trainees and management trainers if requested.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and as otherwise posted or communicated.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years relevant work or 3-5 years relevant work experience required
- Minimum of 2 years management experience in a regulatory industry required
- 1-2 years minimum Supervisory experience required
- Minimum 6 months in Plasma industry
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus
- Current CPR Card
- Certified in Reception area, Donor Floor area and Plasma Processing area within 6 months of becoming an Assistant Center Manager.
- Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills appropriate for all levels of an organization
- Computer skills including proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to use standard office equipment
- Demonstrated spreadsheet and database computer software skills
- Travel as required
Physical Demands:
Performing the responsibilities of the job requires regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, or balance; and to stoop, kneel or crouch. May be required to walk and stand for entire work shifts. Ability to read and type while sitting in front of a computer up to 4 hours at a time. Physically able to use and operate equipment used in assessing donor suitability as well as equipment used to harvest plasma. Manual dexterity to perform all phases of plasmapheresis. Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to 50 lbs.
